Vera I. Devney, 92, of Dover, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000 in Union Hospital.
Born February 20, 1908 at Dover, she was the daughter of the late Curtis & Maude Denzer Benson.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover and was active in its Christian Mothers group. She had formerly been active with the Tuscarawas County Democratic Women & had been a member of the Dover Eagles Auxiliary.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Devney, Sr., who passed away April 10, 1992.
Survivors include:
3 sons Thomas & Evelyn Devney, Jr., of Dover
Robert & Norma Devney, Sr., of New Philadelphia
Richard & Sheila Devney of Parma
10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren
In addition to her parents and husband, Vera was preceded in death by 2 brothers, a sister, and one grandchild.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 12, at 10:30am in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover on Friday from 6-8pm.
