Vera Virginia Woods

Vera Virginia Woods, 58, of Canton and a former Dover resident died Monday, April 9, 2012 in Akron City Hospital.

Born Sept. 7, 1953 in Jewett, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Roy D. and Eileen (Callen) Manbeck Sr.

She enjoyed watching cooking shows and loved solving word puzzles.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband John G. Woods with whom she was married 27 years. He died on Aug. 6, 2002.

Survivors include her daughter Beverly Lopez with whom she resided along with two sisters Karen Tanley of New Philadelphia and Carole Marler of Dayton, Texas; a half brother, Jacob Callen of Louisiana.

Cremation will be entrusted to Toland-Herzig Funeral Home& Crematory in Dover.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 5pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Robert Workman officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 4-5pm.
