Verda L. Kaiser

Verda L. Kaiser, age 84, of Strasburg, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia, following a brief illness.

Born September 21, 1939, in Calais, Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Richard Alexander and Elma (Gallagher) Stephen. Verda graduated from Calais High School, and, on September 15, 1956, married Jerome L. “Jim” Kaiser, who survives. The couple took up residence in Strasburg where they built a home and raised three children. Verda was a loving homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family. She especially liked baking and gardening.

In addition to her husband, Jim, Verda is survived by her children, Steve (Heidi) Kaiser of Strasburg, and Missey (Kelly) Hart of Dover; her grandchildren, Zach (Jen) Kaiser, Kasey (Ryan Lehman) Kaiser and Jeffrey Weaver; her great-granddaughter, McKenna Kaiser; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Klett Kaiser; and her nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Verda was preceded in death by her son, Rickie “Rick” Kaiser, and her sisters and brothers, Ada, Mona, Linza, Dale and Kenneth.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Monday, July 29, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:30, officiated by Pastor James Pilcher of the Reformation Bible Church, Beach City. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park.
