Verna F. Wherley, 100, of Dover, died Friday, July 26, 2002 in the Park Village Health Care Center.
Born August 2, 1901 at Port Washington, she was daughter of the late Jacob & Elizabeth Frank Blind.
Verna was a longtime active member of the St. Johns United Church of Christ at Dover, where she had been involved with the Sarah Circle, Adult Bible Class, and was a Blue Star Mother. She had also been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Reliable Rebekkah lodge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gust Wherley, who passed away November 20, 1980.

In addition to her parents and husband, Verna was preceded in death by a son, Eugene, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
A service celebrating Verna�(TM)s life will be held Monday, July 29, at 11:00am in the St. Johns United Church of Christ at Dover with Rev. Steven Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the committal. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 2-5pm.
