Lifelong Dover resident, Victoria A. "Vicky" Antonelli, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in Union Hospital. She was 94.
She was born July 23, 1915 at Dover, the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Bertle Toth.
A 1933 graduate of the former St. Joseph High School, Vicky remained connected to and deeply involved with her church throughout her life. She was a member of St. Joseph's Christian Mothers, Secular Franciscans, and the church's senior citizens group. For years she helped serve communion to residents of New Dawn Health Care Center.
For many years, Vicky volunteered at Union Hospital delivering Meals on Wheels and serving as a member of the Auxiliary.
Vicky was also an avid card player.
Along with her parents, an infant daughter Sylvia, and a brother Steve, her husband, Carmen A. Antonelli, preceded Vicky in death on May 6, 1978.
Surviving family members include: two daughters, Martha Antonelli of Dover, and Edith (James) Reichman of Sharpsburg, GA; two sons, David (Bonita) Antonelli and Joseph (Beverly) Antonelli, both of Dover; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 10:00 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Matt Hoover officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Following the burial a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover on Friday from 5-8 pm with Christian Wake services starting at 7:30 p.m. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Vicky may do so by visiting the obituaries link on the funeral home's website.
The family suggests that memorial gifts be made, in Vicky's name, to either Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School, 600 N. Tuscarawas Ave., Dover, or to the Rainbow Connection of Tuscarawas County, 123 S. Wooster Ave., Dover.
