Vincent N. “Tuke” Walters, 84, of Dover died on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at St. Rita�(TM)s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio following a brief illness.
He retired in 1979 as Street Superintendent from the City of Dover and had worked part time for Fiedler and Associates.
Born July 23, 1917 in Dover he was a son of the late Frank and Marie Sehn Walters.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Men�(TM)s Club and was a Marine Veteran of WW II. He also was an avid gardener.
Vincent is survived by his wife Catherine A. Cua with whom he would have celebrated 62 years of marriage on September 7, 2002.
He is also survived by a son: Marc Walters and his fiancé Jill Lee of Lima
Daughter: Marsha Propp and her fiancé Larry Pollard of Brinkhaven, Ohio
Two sisters: Bertha “Aunt Sis” (Earl) Lafferty of Dover
Vera Shoemaker of Columbus
Five grandchildren: Ryan and Patrick Walters
Aaron, Adam and Andy Propp
He as also preceded in death by two brothers: Gail and Jack Walters
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. William Metzger officiating. Cremation will follow the service, with interment in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Wednesday from 6-8 pm with Christian Wake Services starting at 7:30.
