Virginia E. Hewitt

Virginia E. Hewitt, 82, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, July 21, 2001 at Hennis Care Centre following an extended illness.

She retired from Harts Department Store at New Philadelphia after 15 years of service.

Born September 4, 1918 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Bessie Ruble Yoss.

She attended Schoenbrunn Moravian Church at New Philadelphia. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and was excellent at needlework and crafts. She also loved taking care of her family.

Virginia is survived by her husband Edward Hewitt with whom she would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on August 3, 2001.

She is also survived by a son: Terry and Gale Hewitt of Dover

Daughter: Nancy and Stephen Blake of Columbus

Brother: Dale and Lela Yoss of Dover

Sister: Ruby Burkey of New Philadelphia

Two grandchildren: Andrew and Kelsey

Two step grandchildren: Matt and Brian

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Bruce Weaknecht officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Friends can call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Tuesday.
