Virginia M. “Ginny” Kennedy, 77, of Dover died Friday, December 26, 2003 in Union Hospital.
Born December 4, 1926 at Brewster, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Marcia M. King Fagley, Sr.
Ginny was a devoted member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover where she was active in the Regina Study Club and St. Joseph�(TM)s Seniors. She had formerly served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister and was passionately involved with Church Women United, T4C, Dress-a-Child and Birthright.
She enjoyed playing cards and was a longtime member of the American Contract Bridge League and was also a Certified Director of the ACBL. Additionally, she played with the Tuscarawas Valley Duplicate Bridge Club and the Wednesday night Duplicate Club.
Ginny also treasured her friendships and always looked forward to her monthly get-togethers with her 1940 Dover High School classmates.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald P. “Don” Kennedy, who passed away March 27, 2002.
Survivors include: a daughter; Elizabeth A. (Richard) O�(TM)Brien of Dover, son; James J. (Andrea) Kennedy of Spencer, MA, a brother: William L. (Evelyn) Fagley of Midland, MI, six grandchildren; Kristina (Rob) Basso, Kathrine (Mat) Gallentine, Kimberly (B. Jay) Ross, Matthew Kennedy, Phillip Kennedy & Lincoln Kennedy and five great-granddaughters; Karlie Abigail and Allysan Gallentine, Hanna Ross & Grace Basso.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ginny was preceded in death by: two brothers; John Fagley & Walter S. Fagley, Jr. and two sisters; Elizabeth Walker and Louise Earhart.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, December 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. A reception will follow services in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. where a Christian Wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m.
