Virginia “Sis” Walker, 96, of New Philadelphia and a former Dover resident died peacefully Sunday, March 7, 2004 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.
She was a retired office employee at the Greer Steel Company in Dover where she worked for 43 years.
Born September 18, 1907 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late T.B. and Lena Lanzer Rearick.
She enjoyed golfing and playing bridge and was a former member of the Union Country Club at Dover. She was a graduate of Dover High School. She was a loving and devoted caregiver to family and friends in need of help. She was also a good neighbor.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly (K.G.) Walker who died December 10, 1974. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Herman “Bup” Rearick, a sister, Helen Weinsz, and a nephew, Jim Weinsz.
She is survived by one sister, Mildred Detre of Dover; a loving niece, Pat (Bob) Williams of Dover, a nephew, Bill Rearick of Canton and a stepson, Alfred “Bud” Walker of Newcomerstown.
Rev. Al Bergmann will officiate private graveside services Tuesday, March 9, 2004 in the Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. There are no calling hours.
