Waldine "Skip" Krantz

Waldine J. “Skip” Krantz, 93, of Dover, Ohio passed away Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 at New Dawn in Dover following a period of declining health.

She was born in her family home in Dover on March 5, 1928 and was the second daughter to the late Walter and Margaret (Eberly) Wendling. She was a birthday gift for her 3 year old sister, Martha Sue who was born on the same day.

She attended Dover Avenue school and was a 1946 graduate of Dover High School. Following high school, “Skip” worked for the East Ohio Gas Company in Dover for ten years. She later retired from the former Williams Furniture Company in New Philadelphia where she worked for many years.

On September 1, 1950, the late Pastor Karl Driscol of the Grace Lutheran Church in Dover married she and her husband of of 62 years, Arthur W. Krantz in the church parsonage and they moved into their home on W. 23rd St. in Dover. Art preceded her in death on May 25, 2013. The two of them met at the former Spanish Ball Room in Dover. They were blessed with three children, Arthur “Doug” (wife, Sharon) Krantz and Holly (husband, Rick) Vesco both of Bolivar and Jan Margaret (husband, Brian) Kelker of Dover; four grandchildren, Zachary (Erin Norman) Krantz, Ashley (Nick) Kerns, Tyler Krantz, and Michaela (Drew) Helton and a great granddaughter, Willow Krantz. She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Sue Spring.

“Skip” was blessed with many true friendships throughout her life. She enjoyed many hours quilting with friends and would meet monthly with friends from her card club group that played together for over 55 years. She was also an avid reader. She was a life member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Dover.

At her request, a private graveside service will be held in the Dover Burial Park at Dover with Pastor Bonnie Grimaldi officiating. There are no calling hours.
