Walter F. Levengood, age 77, of Dover, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, in Community Hospice’s Truman House.
Born October 8, 1940, in New Bedford, he was a son of the late Walter R. and Edith Rowe Levengood. Walter attended school in Baltic, and was employed by Baltic Rubber and Elasto Tech in Walnut Creek, from which he retired. He also worked as a self-employed truck driver. Walter enjoyed woodworking, crafts, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, working in the yard around his home, and long walks.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Toland Levengood, whom he married on August 26, 1962; his daughters, Rebecca Wright of New Philadelphia and Tammy Veverka of La Pine, Oregon; his eight grandchildren; his eleven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Pauline Welling of Strasburg, Nona Domer of West Lafayette, Betty Lou Miller of Newcomerstown and Jerry Levengood of New Philadelphia.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son; his son, Franklin; his sisters, Ruth Schupbach, Ann Wilson and Carolyn Brown; and his brothers, Russell and Raymond Levengood.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 20, at 11 a.m., in St. Jacob's Church Cemetery near Stone Creek.
The family suggests that contributions in Walter’s memory be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
