Walter J. Galbraith

Walter J. Galbraith, 81, of Dover, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, in Union Hospital following a long illness.

Born Jul. 17, 1925, in Dennison, Walter was the son of the late Walter and Dorothy Tyson Galbraith. He attended school in Dennison, and was employed by the Joy Manufacturing Co. in New Philadelphia for thirty years before his retirement in 1973. Walter wanted to stay active, and he went to work for the Buehler�(TM)s Food Market in Dover where he stayed for eleven years. He also drove automobiles for local dealerships. Walter was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Dover.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret P. Tylka Frank Galbraith, whom he married Jan. 20, 1979; a son, Walter Lee “Bud” (wife, Wanda) Galbraith of Florida; three step-daughters, Pam (husband, Doug) Clark of New Philadelphia, Kathy (husband, Raymond) Young of Coshocton, and Brenda (husband, Bob) Fisher of Columbus; two step-sons, Jerry (wife, Connie) Frank of New Philadelphia, and Bruno (wife, Mary) Frank, Jr. of Akron; grandchildren, Scott Galbraith, Brandy Smith, Lee Galbraith, Shawn Galbraith, Tiffany Riffle, Stephanie Clark, Kelle Young, Teri Young, Raymond Young, III, Bruno Frank, III, Lydia Frank, Joshua Frank, Jerry Frank, Jr., and Tommy Frank; and many great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Sunday, Feb. 25, 5 �" 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home, with Rev. Harry H. Milligan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dover, with prayers and blessing by Fr. William L. Arnold. Following the committal, there will be a lunch in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
