Walter M. Biehl, 80, of 128 Dale Ave., Strasburg, Ohio died Sunday, November 23, 2003 in his home following a one year battle with skin cancer.
He was a retired electician for the Norfolk and Western Railroad in Brewster.
Born May 10, 1923 in Strasburg, Ohio, he was the son of the late Louis and Eve Eberly Biehl.
Walter was a 1941 graduate of Strasburg High School. He was a World War II US Army Veteran having served in the Pacific.He was known as 'Mr. Fixit.' He enjoyed auctions and flea markets. He also enjoyed meeting with his fellow retirees for breakfast.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Eberly Biehl with whom he celebrated 25 years of marriage on June 10.
He is also survived by his stepchildren R. Christopher Elesky of Oregon and Dawn M. Elesky of North Canton and two grandchildren Robby and Austin Elesky of Oregon.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by an infant brother.
A public graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg with Rev. Howard Fox officiating. The VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Strasburg on Tuesday (today) from 5-8 pm.
