Wanda E. Ellwood, 86, of Dover passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at her home.
Wanda was born on August 21, 1932, to the late Emil and Lucille Schupbach of Brightwood, Ohio. She grew up in the local Dover area. She graduated from Dover High School in 1951 and married the late Gene Ellwood on June 17, 1951. This union provided them with three children, Sharon (Jack) Garl of Dover, Bruce (Pam) Ellwood of New Philadelphia, and Pam (Ron) Capillo of Atwood Lake. Gene preceded her in death on December 19, 1989. She has been blessed with four grandsons; Shawn West of Santee, California, Josh (Halli) West of Las Vegas, Tyler (Lauren) Ellwood of Clayton, North Carolina, Zachary Ellwood of Dover; along with two great-granddaughters, Alexis and MacKenzie Ellwood of Clayton, North Carolina.
Wanda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover, where she has been a member for more than 56 years. Her hobbies include gardening, playing cards, picture puzzles, sewing and traveling.
A celebration of Wanda’s life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor David St. Aubin officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the First United Methodist Church in Dover.
