Wanetah M. Ball, 87, of Navarre, and a former resident of Strasburg and New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, July 28, in her home, following a long illness.
Born, December 28, 1921, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Anna Cotterman Boone. Wanetah graduated from New Philadelphia High School, and, in 1940, married Charles E. Ball. She was a homemaker - a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother �" who enjoyed doing things for her family.
Wanetah was also employed as a bookkeeper for the Hicks Roofing Co. for over twenty-five years.
She was a faithful member of Strasburg United Methodist Church, and was a voracious reader who was especially fond of fiction and biographies.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Tom) Dutton of Navarre; three grandchildren, Michael (Terri), Jeffrey (Melody) and T.J. (Sarah) Dutton; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ethan, Madeline, Matthew and Nova Dutton.
In addition to her parents, Wanetah was preceded in death by a son, James Ball, in 1966, and by her husband, Charles, a year later in 1967.
A graveside service, open to the public, will be held Monday, August 3, at 2 p.m., in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg; Rev. Lynda K. Masters will officiate. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Wanetah, please visit the Toland-Herzig Web site and click on Obituaries.
