Ward was a down-to-earth man, who loved God, his country and his family. He was a faithful member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Dover, and found great joy in playing the guitar and singing country gospel music especially for the residents of local nursing homes. Always active, Ward could often be seen riding his bicycle around his northwest New Philadelphia neighborhood. Additionally, he was interested in local history, and belonged to the Tuscarawas County Historical Society.
Survivors include his loving wife, Elsie; four sons, Gene (Peggy) Kutcher of Dellroy, Robert (Lillian) Kutcher of Richwood, West Virginia, Ernie Kutcher of Pace, Florida, and Carl (Sherry) Kutcher of Massillon (Jackson Twp.); six grandchildren, Kim Brummel, Chad, Paul, Eric, Kyle and Stephanie Kutcher; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Ethel) Kutcher of New Philadelphia; several nieces and nephews.
