Warren V. Dorsey Sr., 83, of Dover died Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at Union Hospital following a three-month battle with cancer.
He retired in 1977 from Ohio Operating Engineers in Akron after 40 years of service.
Born September 26, 1918 in New Philadelphia he was a son of the late Edward and Amanda Wise Dorsey.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dover Army-Navy Club and Union Local 18 of the Operating Engineers. He was also a life member of the Dover VFW, Eagles Club and was an Army Veteran of WW II. He was a motorcycling enthusiast who loved riding his Honda Shadow.
Warren is survived by his wife Betty Espenschied Dorsey with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage on July 7, 2001.
He is also survived by two daughters: Vickie (Bill) Kohl of Dover

Robert (Beverly) Deal of Columbus
Two grandsons: Jon Salmen of New Philadelphia

Tina Marcus of Bergholtz, Ohio
Rikki Vincenzo of Amsterdam
Sister: Rita Reed of Walnut Creek
Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Warren V. Dorsey Jr.
Seven brothers: Roy, Carl, Kenny, Paul, Bob, Milton, and Bill Dorsey
Two sisters: Clara Kopp and Edith Wright
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2001 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Friday from 6-8 pm with Christian Wake services starting at 7:30.
