Wayne Carl Weber

Wayne Carl Weber went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 16, 2003.

He was the beloved husband of Catherine, who went home in June of 2001.

He was born March 14, 1908, to the late John L. and Emma Weber of Strasburg. He and Catherine were married in 1935 and lived in Strasburg for eight years before moving to Dover.

He retired as a painter and interior decorator in 1970 and was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia, Masonic Lodge at Strasburg, Scottish Rite of Canton, the Tadmor Shrine of Akron and Cypress Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

He was an all-around handy man, artist and devoted father to Cherie (Richard) McCombs, Donna (Dan) Thompson-Glass and Karen (Philip) Schumacher, who survive.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Tom McCombs, Jill (John) Walker, Beth (Kip) McDade, Kent Thompson, Tami (Greg) Martin and Annette and Brian Schumacher; six great grandchildren: Janelle and Jonathon Walker, Madeline, Katessa, and Isaac McDade and Graden Martin; a step-brother Bill Yates, and a very special friend Mike Thomas-Moore.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Allen ''Butch'' Thompson; a grandson, Philip ''Danny'' Schumacher; brothers, Glen and Ted, and sisters Gladys Evelyn and Margaret.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 2:00 pm at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Michael Walters officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Masonic services will be held at 12:30 pm.
