Wensel L. Rennicker, 79, of Mineral City, died Sunday, Apr. 3, 2005, in Union Hospital, Dover. His death was due to pneumonia.
Born Aug. 23, 1925, in Goshen Twp., Tuscarawas Co., OH, he was a son of the late Lewis and Martha 'Gay' Byers Rennicker. Wensel graduated from Dover High School and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as an inspector for the former Warner & Swasey Co., New Philadelphia. Wensel enjoyed carpentry and made many beautiful shelves and birdhouses. He also took great pride in the care of his yard. He was a member of the New Cumberland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his, Lois Davy Rennicker, whom he married Oct. 22, 1949, in Calvary Methodist Church, Sherrodsville, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonita Rennicker, and two brothers, Cletus D. and Wayne L. Rennicker.
A service for family members will be held Wednesday, Apr. 6, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia, with Rev. Ted Knapp officiating. Burial will be in Holmes Church Cemetery, New Philadelphia. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the New Cumberland Church.
