Wilbert M. ''Moxie'' Myers, 83, of Dover died Thursday, November 2, 2000 at Union Hospital following a sudden illness.
He retired in 1983 from Ohio Department of Transportation after 20 years of service.
Born September 1, 1917 in Mineral City he was a son of the late Max and Blanche Jones Myers.
He was a Coast Guard Veteran of WW II and was a member of the Dover VFW. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Wilbert is survived by his wife Emma Hardwidge Myers with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on January 10, 2000.
He is survived by two daughters: Sally Beans of East Sparta
Bonnie and Dan Rentsch of Dover
One son: Richard Myers of Dover
Three sisters: Mary and Mike Devine of East Sparta
Ruth Randulic of Zoarville
Dorothy and Charles Applegarth of Magnolia
One brother: Jay and Ruth Myers of East Sparta
Four grandchildren: Terri Beans Matt McCoy
Christopher Beans Heather Myers
Four great grandchildren: Erica, Jennifer, Caleb and Hunter
He was also preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2000 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. William Waltz officiating. Interment will be at the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-9 pm.
