Willard E. Kieffer Sr.

Willard E. Kieffer Sr, 63, of Mineral City passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar following an extended illness.

Born in Dover on December 6, 1952, he was the son of the late Virgil and Esther (Holcomb) Kieffer. He graduated from Tusky Valley High School in 1972. On December 31, 1986, he married Carolyn Kieffer, who preceded him in death on April 18, 2013. He is also preceded in death by his brother; Richard Kieffer; sister, Roberta Blackson; and his daughter in law, Lori Ann Kieffer.

For over 20 years, Willard worked for Hercules Engine in Canton. He also worked for TR Mobile Homes and Tolloti Plastic Pipe in Roswell.

Willard enjoyed playing the lottery, cards, dice, and farming. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his three children; Will Jr. (Jamie) Kieffer of Mineral City, Dawn (Dale) Gilmore of Sherrodsville, Bobby Kieffer of Dover; four step-children, Tammy (Bill) Wood of Kimbolton, Peggy (Todd) McCune of Beach City, Grady Woodring of Canton, Tyrone Woodring of Massillon; his former son in law, Jay Elliott Sr of Barnhill; eight grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren, along with his brother; Ralph (Viola) Kieffer of Sherrodsville.

A funeral service will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00am with Pastor Richard Harvey officiating. Interment will take place next to Carolyn at New Cumberland Cemetery. Friends can call at the funeral home on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 4-7pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
