Willard Joseph "Joe" Leggett

Willard Joseph “Joe” Leggett, 79, of New Philadelphia passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at New Dawn Health Care Centre in Dover.

Born on January 9, 1939 in his home in Strasburg, he was the son of the late Loren Willard and Mary (Farner) Leggett. He was also preceded in death by his brother; Donald J. Leggett, and brother in-law; Ronald Wallace.

Joe graduated from New Philadelphia High School with the class of 1957. He retired from Buehler’s in Dover, where he was a meat cutter for over 20 years. He was also a proud reserved deputy for the Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Department for many years. He was a member of the New Philadelphia Elks. He enjoyed guns, and in his younger years loved going shooting.

On May 9, 1958, he married the love of his life, Erlyne Wallace, whom he recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. He is also survived by his niece; Valerie Leggett of New Philadelphia; nephew, Donald (Vi) Leggett of Bolivar; cousins, Joyce and John Frank of New Philadelphia; along with several great nieces and nephews.
