William E. "Bill" Clinton

September 1, 1925 — January 12, 2015

William E. "Bill" Clinton, 89, of Dover peacefully left this earth on Monday, January 12, 2015 following an apparent heart attack.

Bill was born on September 1, 1925 in Akron, Ohio to the late William and Blanche Barnes Clinton. He graduated from Akron North High School and then enlisted in the United States Army during WW II where he served in Europe. He was very patriotic and proud to fight for his country. When he returned home he married Freda Wyatt, from this marriage he had four sons; Bill, Bob, Dick and Steve. They left Akron and bought a small farm in the Stone Creek area. He loved working the farm while also holding a full time job at GE in Dover. Freda died on the farm from an accident and Bill and the boys sold the farm and moved to Dover where he continued to work at GE. It was there that he met his second wife, Doloris Ewing, and was married on July 21, 1963. In addition to Doloris' four children, Darcie, Randy, Ronnie and Dawn, together they had a son, Martin.

Bill and Doloris became active antique dealers after Bill retired from GE with over 35 years of service. They were known for their antique shows and were dealers at different antique malls in the area, most recently at Yoder's Antique Mall in Bolivar. They enjoyed traveling, taking bus trips, and going to Europe, visiting many of the places Bill served during the war. Bill kept a meticulous yard, which he was proud of, and the many flower beds he and Doloris planted and tended. He also loved his vegetable garden and enjoyed sharing his produce with neighbors and friends.

Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Doloris Edwards Clinton; children, William (Carla) Clinton of Mesquite, Texas, Robert (Judy) Clinton of Dover, Richard Clinton of Frederick, Maryland, Steve (Debbie) Clinton of Dover, Darcie (Dan) Shepherd of New Albany, Randall (Debbie) Ewing of Dover, Martin (Shelly) Clinton of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter in law, Judy Lynn Ewing of Dover; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Bill was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald Ewing; daughter, Dawn Ewing and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17 at 2:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Thomas Dunkle officiating. Following the service, a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 pm.
