William F. Smitley

William F. Smitley, 68, of Dover passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

Born July 22, 1953 in Dover he was a son of Marguerite Hooper Smitley of Canton and the late William K. Smitley. In addition to his father, William was also preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Smitley on September 18, 2006. He is survived by his sons, Jonas Smitley, William S. Smitley both of Dover; brothers, Cliff Smitley of Stone Creek, Mike (Leeann) Weaver of Tuscarawas, Donnie Weaver of Canton; sister, Donna Coen of Mineral City; grandchildren, Darion and Marcus Smitley.

William had been an oil rig worker for many years and was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed watching WWE and loved spending time with his family.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. The family will be greeting friends on Friday, at the Dover funeral home, from 4-6 pm. Interment of the ashes will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover.
