William H. “Bill” Greenough, age 68, of Dennison, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 5, 2019 in Trinity Hospital Twin City, Dennison.
Born April 13, 1951, in Johnson City, New York, he was a son of the late Donald and Edith Delamarter Greenough. Bill attended school in Rochester, New York, and enlisted in the United States Army, ultimately serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, Bill settled in Ohio where he found employment in a number of businesses. He married Patricia M. “Pat” Flaherty, who survives, on April 21, 1979.
Bill was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians and Browns, going fishing, as well as collecting baseball cards.
Survivors include his loving wife, Pat; his daughters, Kimberly (Paul) Steichen of Kimball, Minnesota, and Billie Jo Greenough of Dennison; his grandchildren, Edward, Anthony, Abigail, Sarah, Michael, Rachel, Joseph and Peter; his brother, John (Judith) Greenough of Springwater, New York; and his nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Greenough; and his brothers, Donald and Arna Greenough.
Family and friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Thursday, July 11, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:30, and military rites will be conducted. Burial will be later, following cremation, in Sacred Heart Calvary Cemetery, New Philadelphia.
