William L. "Bill" Metzger

William L. “Bill” Metzger, 58, of Strasburg passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021 in the New Dawn Retirement Community.

Bill was born on October 3, 1963 in Dover to Bonnie Page Corbett of Dover and the late William O. Metzger. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Glorya Metzger.

Bill was a 1981 graduate of Strasburg High School, and was employed as a meat cutter at several different stores throughout the area. He loved music and played in the band during high school, he also enjoyed going to local band shows.

In addition to his mother, Bill is also survived by his sisters, Michele (Kay Petrie-Brown) Metzger of New Philadelphia, Tiffany (Robert) Bucher of Strasburg; aunt, Kathleen Metzger; cousins, Brent, Bruce and Julie Metzger; nephew, Bryce Bucher all of Strasburg.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Bill may do so by visiting the online obituaries link on the funeral home’s website.
