William L. “Bill” Bott, 78, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and a former Strasburg resident died Sunday, June 18, 2006 in his home following an extended illness.
Bill was a retired truck driver for Jones Motor Freight in Columbus.
Born July 13, 1927 in Strasburg, he was the son of the late Nevin and Zelma Doney Bott.
He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War and was stationed in France. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Foresters. He attended the Living Word Church in Columbus. He loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Waldick Bott who died April 17, 2005. He was also preceded by a sister, Ruth Bott.
Bill is survived by a daughter, Lyndal (Ed) Davis of Pickerington; three sons, Jeff Bott of Strasburg, Mike (Patty) Bott and Tim Bott both of Dover; six grandchildren, Jason Davis, Joelle Davis Clark, Jaclyn Davis, Adam Bott, Karissa Bott and Melissa Bott; three great grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Jordan and Kayla Clark and a sister, Martha (Don) Meek of Strasburg.
Funeral services celebrating Bill�(TM)s life will be held Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 pm.
