William R. "Bill" Beebe, 78, of Dover died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Union Hospital with complications of a long term illness.
He retired in 1996 from Quali-Chem, had also worked for DuBois Chemical, and was a milkman for Superior Dairy.
Born December 7, 1930 in Dover he was a son of the late William "Earl" and Bessie Herron Beebe. An infant brother, William E. Beebe, also preceded him in death.
Bill attended Community Baptist Church in Dover enjoyed working around the house and gardening as well as attending community musical events. He and his wife were frequently seen at the Dover Senior Center and had a wave and smile for everyone. He had also served in the Army Reserves.
A wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Joann Philabaum Beebe whom he married on June 24, 1951; two daughters, Susan (husband, Keith) Mosebrook of Laurel Springs, New Jersey and Linda Clifton (husband, Cary) of Dover; son, David (wife, Mary Jane) Beebe of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Elisabeth and Abigail Mosebrook, Nathan and Jeremy Clifton and Bill, Michael and Kristen Beebe; great grandson, Josiah Clifton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Keith Mosebrook officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm.
