William R. Jennings Jr., 72, of Dover passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 following an extended illness.
Born on August 6, 1939, in Dover, he was the son of the late William R. Sr. and Elsie M. Wayble Jennings. He is also preceded in death by his son; Tracy Jennings and brother; Robert Jennings.
After 30 years of service, William retired from Reeves Mill where he was a steel worker.
William attended Dover High School and was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dover. He was a Boy Scout leader for five years and enjoyed spending his spare time outdoors fishing, muzzle loading and motorcycling.
William will be sadly missed by his wife; Mary "Nina" (Voltz) Jennings; three sons, William III (Betty) Jennings of Midvale, Jon Jennings of Dover, Michael (Nikki) Jennings of Dover; daughter, Theresa (Jeremy) Shomo of Dover; five sisters, Betty (Roy) McConnell of Dover, Grace Beller of Dover, Carolyn (Tom) Price of New Philadelphia, Bea Hyust of Canton, Judi (Carl) Schneider of Canton; along with eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In honoring William's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A memorial service will take place at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 4:00 pm with Pastor Donald Rice, Jr. officiating. Following the service, a meal will be served in Luther Hall.
