William Vasbinder

William “Bill” Vasbinder, 71, of Dover died Monday, October 17, 2005 at his home.

He retired in 1994 from Gradall after 33 years of service.

Born July 4, 1934 in Dover he was the son of Florence Lengler Vasbinder of Dover and the late Hubert Vasbinder.

Bill was a member of First Christian Church in Dover, Tuscarawas Lodge #59 F & AM in Dover, Scottish Rite in Canton, Tadmor Shrine in Akron, New Philadelphia Elks, Bolivar Sportsmen�(TM)s Club, Dover and New Philadelphia VFW, Bolivar Army/Navy Club and was an Army veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to 50�(TM)s music, photography, reading, traveling and spending the winter months in the south.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, LaVern Hootman Vasbinder who died on June 11, 1968 and is survived by his second wife, Virginia Ross Vasbinder with whom he celebrated 35 years of marriage on June 20, 2005.

He is also survived by four daughters, Debbie (Tom) Downing of Dover, Sharon (Shawn) Smith of Alliance, Karen (Don) Colvin of New Philadelphia and Cathy (Ron) Saffell of Dover; son, Chris (Sherri) Vasbinder of Dover; 13 grandchildren, Erin and Casie Downing of Dover, Nathan and Keith Smith of Alliance, Lucas, Libby and Ally Vasbinder of Dover, Kyle Cooper of Wauseon, Kent (Lana) Cooper of Tuscon, Janson Colvin of New Philadelphia, Matthew Colvin of Dundee, Gina and Kendra Saffell of Dover.

In keeping with Bills wish, cremation has taken place through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 11:00 am in the First Christian Church in Dover with David Dahlstein and Kenard Parrott officiating. Friends can call at the church one-hour prior to the service on Friday.
