William W. Davidson

William W. “Bill” Davidson, Sr., 67, of New Philadelphia died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at his home following a brief illness.

He retired from Cargo Carriers in New Philadelphia, and had been a truck driver for many different companies over his 49-year career span.

Born April 24, 1937 in Dover he was a son of the late Herschel and Margurite Haas.

Bill was a member of the Dover and Uhrichsville Eagles, Uhrichsville Moose, American Italian Club in Dennison, Heyjacks Sportsman�(TM)s Club in Dennison and was an Army veteran. When he wasn�(TM)t on the road Bill enjoyed working around the house and making birdhouses.

Bill is survived by his wife Nancy Robinson Davidson with whom he would have celebrated 18 years of marriage on December 20, 2004.

He is also survived by four daughters, Diana (Greg) Swinderman of New Philadelphia, Sandra (Dave) Smith of Barnhill, Sally (Gene) Warner of Dover and Merry Briggs of Dennison; five sons, William Davidson Jr. of Dover, Tom (Chris) Keffer of Brockton, MA, Mark Keffer and his fiancé Rhonda Wright of Dover, Todd Keffer and his fiancé Lori Meese of Dover and Scott (Tina) Keffer of Dover; brother, Bob (Jenny) Davidson of Louisville; sister, Marlene (George) Wallace of New Philadelphia; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and his favorite dog, Samantha.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Interment will be at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Following the burial a reception will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
