Wilma F. Macneil

Wilma F. (Bair) MacNeil, 84, of Beaver, PA passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Heritage Valley Beaver in Pennsylvania.

Born on August 21, 1931 in Tiffin, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Corlies Joseph and Gladys (Worthley) Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jamie Ott and her sisters, Laura Milliken and Ellen Weaver.

Wilma graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1949. She enjoyed baking, sewing, singing, and writing books. She was very artistic and loved making pillow cartoon characters for her children.

Throughout her lifetime, Wilma was a member of many churches where she was active pianist, soloist, missionary, choir member, and a member of the Woman's Guild. She was an assistant Cub Scout leader and the Publicity Chair at the East Elementary PTA in New Philadelphia, Ohio.

She will be sadly missed by her children; Sue Ellen Ott of New Philadelphia, Ruth Lynne (Ron) Hodges of Little River, SC, CMSgt Bruce Adam (Ginger) Bair of Aliquippa, PA; four grandchildren, Matt (Emily) Ott, Amber (Dave) Speranza, Ronald Hodges, and Amanda Hodges; great grandchildren, Hudson and Harrison Ott, Caleb and Aiden Speranza, and Lily Hodges; along with her sister, Lois Thompson of Round Rock, TX.

A celebration of Wilma's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 11:00am with Pastor Frank Rex who is the Church Layman at Friendship Ridge, where Wilma resided. Burial will follow at New Cumberland Cemetery. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
