Wilma K. Furbay

Wilma K. Furbay, 92, of the Park Village Retirement Center and formerly of Walnut St., Dover, Ohio died Thursday, December 11, 2003 at Union Hospital following a brief illness.

She was a sales clerk for the former Stallard�(TM)s Specialty Shop at Dover and the Office Appliance Company in Dover.

Born July 30, 1911 in Zanesville, Ohio.. In her earlier years, she resided in Uhrichsville.

Wilma was a member of the First Moravian Church at Dover and Past President of the Women�(TM)s Fellowship of the church. She was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen “Dutch” Furbay in 1964. He was a former schoolteacher and football, basketball, and track coach at Dover High School from 1942-1956. He also coached at Dennison High School from 1936-41.

Wilma is survived by her son, Jay F. Furbay of Flagler Beach, Florida and her daughter, Sally (Jim) Fox of Fredericktown, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Andy Fox, Molly Beth McCain, Jennifer Erick, Troy and Trevor Furbay along with five great grandchildren and two nephews, Logan Dutton of Sarasota, Florida and Richard Dutton of Dover.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 pm in the First Moravian Church at Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:30am to 1:30 pm.
