Wilma L. Ashbaugh, 89, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, in Morning View Care Center following a long illness.
Born Aug. 26, 1915, in Carbon Hill, Hocking Co., she was a daughter of the late Pearly and Mabel Spooner Perkins. Wilma attended school in Hocking Co., and, on Apr. 1, 1934, married Homer E. Ashbaugh in New Philadelphia. Wilma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long-time member of the Midvale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Edgar) Richardson of New Philadelphia, and Donna Booth of Tuscarawas; a son, John (Darlene) Ashbaugh of Midvale; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Therma Wheatley of New Philadelphia; a brother, Delbert Perkins of Toledo; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Homer, in 1984; a daughter, Norma Jean Booth; a granddaughter, Patricia Ashbaugh; and a sister, Leona Tilkey.
A public graveside service will be held Monday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m., in East Avenue Cemetery, New Philadelphia, with Pastor David K. Powell officiating. Following the committal, there will be a meal in the Midvale United Methodist Church. In keeping with Wilma�(TM)s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
