Zelda M. Watson, 96, of the Park Village Health Care Center and formerly of 341 E. Ohio Ave., Dover, Ohio died Monday, April 3, 2000 in the center following a brief illness.
Zelda retired in 1966, as an employee of the Reeves Steel Company at Dover where she worked for 23 years.
Born February 23, 1904 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Clara M. Krantz Weigand.
She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Dover and the Secular Franciscans Order and Christian Mothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Watson who died May 16, 1944.
She is survived by her daughter in law Eileen Watson of Dover and seven grandchildren Mike (Patti) Watson, Nora (Brad) Curran, Patricia (Mike) Foster, Ann Watson, Bridget (Dwight) Sundheimer, Tim (Wendy) Watson and Joe Watson, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph H. and William I. Watson, two brothers, Adrian and Hubert Weigand and one sister, Josephine Lahmers.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 6, 2000 at 1:00 PM in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
